Heismans and Presidents
A question arose at my favorite watering hole on the way home this evening. Someone asked, only five American colleges boast both Heisman Trophy winners and at least one United States President; which colleges can lay claim to this distinction? For bonus points, which U.S. college has more Presidents than Heisman winners?
No fair to Google. I got two of the schools. (I will post the answers tomorrow - unless, someone gets it right and I’m still awake and online).
UPDATE: School Supplies in 2007
I approached the manager of the local K-Mart concerning the placement of school supplies and condoms in the same aisle. She informed me that the placement is a corporate decision and is out of her control to change. Then she said that the corporate policy of K-Mart is to place the condoms in the school supplies section so as to encourage children to have safe sex! I could not believe my ears, K-Mart actively attempting to sell condoms to grade school-aged children? Really? OUTRAGE!
I have written a letter to K-Mart’s corporate headquarters demanding an explanation. I will keep everyone posted on any response.
UPDATE: Who May Keep and Bear Arms?
The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the D.C. handgun case! Conservative Donnybrook will be listening as well.
Bad News for Dems?
The latest approval ratings are out for President Bush and the Democratic Congress. While President Bush’s rating has held steady at albeit a low 32% approval rating the Democratic Congress saw its rating drop even further to 20%. Even with the support of the majority of mass media networks in building up Democratic politicians and tearing down Republican ones it seems like Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid still can’t do anything right. I wonder what these ratings will show us, if anything, about the ‘08 election.
