The Obama campaign on some rather innocuous comments from Hillary and her surrogates:

“A cross-section of voters are alarmed at the tenor of some of these statements,” said Obama spokeswoman Candice Tolliver, who said that Clinton would have to decide whether she owed anyone an apology.

“There’s a groundswell of reaction to these comments — and not just these latest comments but really a pattern, or a series of comments that we’ve heard for several months,” she said. “Folks are beginning to wonder: Is this really an isolated situation, or is there something bigger behind all of this?”

Accusing the Clinton campaign of racism or exploiting racism is an explosive charge, and for them to make such an accusation on the basis of some benign comments that actually had nothing to do with race is really shameful. Incidents like this are hardly unusual, but I thought Obama was supposed to be a unifying figure who transcends race, bringing an end to the divisive politics of the past. Guess not.

Sorry Mr. Gore, but it doesn’t look like it. Snow fell on Baghdad today for the first time in almost 70 years.
