McCain: The Illegal Immigration Candidate
Say what you will about McCain, but he is a man who sticks to his principles, come what may. For example, the principle that 12 million illegals should be given amnesty and allowed to continue working in the United States.
But hasn’t he changed his stripes of late? Mickey Kaus:
… it’s obvious to anyone paying attention that McCain hasn’t altered his support for legalization of illegals (once he’s declared the border “secure”). One reason we know this is because he’s said it–he said it again on Meet the Press yesterday, when asked if he’d sign the McCain-Kennedy “comprehensive” immigration bill as president if it came to his desk. Answer: “Yeah.” …
What about McCain’s statement that: “I will not allow anyone to receive Social Security or any other benefits because they have come here illegally and broken our laws”?–ed Obvious BS. If he offers legalization to the “12 million” who are here they will clearly get benefits from having come here illegally–the benefit of being here legally, for one. Medicaid, Medicare, and public schooling for another. People who came here illegally would also immediately qualify for Social Security benefits as soon as they got the quickie “probationary” Z-visa under McCain’s bill.
You wouldn’t know it judging from the crookedness of all his “straight talk” on immigration. But for some real straight talk, see McCain’s hispanic outreach guy’s comments on the Mexican-American community (again, h/t Kaus):
Mr. HERNANDEZ: We are betting on that the Mexican-American population in the United States will … think ‘Mexico first,’ and they will invest in Mexico. They’ve already been doing it–in–in–in–to a great extent.
AMOS: But that’s family to family?
Mr. HERNANDEZ: Family to family. But now I want the third generation, the seventh generation, I want them all to think ‘Mexico first.’
Is this guy suggesting that millions of unassimilated foreigners staying largely within their own homogeneous ethnic group might have something less than total loyalty to the United States? What is he, some kind of racist?

Viva McCain!!!
Michelle Malkin should close her legs and shut her mouth.
If she wishes to be a Facist. She should go back to Korea.
Read all of Dr. Hernandez’s work before you go popping off.
And, read all the bill. Selective use of the vocabulary per policy is nonproductive It’s not ‘amnesty’. And, it’s smart borders not open borders. Get a clue and pull you head out of the Arizona desert sand!.
Viva McCain!
Bold Solutions: He tells it straight.

A rose by any other name, my dear Officious.
McCain is anti-free speach and pro-illegal immigration. Viva McCain in Mexico, not in the U.S.

I’m sorry, Officious, that I didn’t employ McCain’s own doubletalk, evasions, euphemisms, and lies when discussing his amnesty bill.

If I was President of Mexico as soon as the election is over in November I would actively help 10,000 poor peasant families to stream across the border what would we do to stop them? They could play the media have women and kids fighting to get across ‘brutal’ US Immigration Agents apprehending them when all they want is a chance to work and live in America. I would refuse the US attempts to repatriate them. Thus forcing the US to build refuge camps so between the camps to house them and the ‘brutal’ efforts to apprehend them I would start using the media to blow-up the situation and ‘Guantanamo’ the US at the UN and charge the US Government with human rights violations. Then in the mean time I would continue to assist large groups of a thousand or more to cross over thus continuing to over whelm the Border Agents and local law enforcement. By the time Troops or Nation Guard moves toward the borders I would make sure I had a half million across the border including empting my prisons, something like Cuba did a few years back. Of course once the Guard and Troops are on the border they might slow things down but there will be mistakes someone will get hurt or killed so I would urgently approach the UN Security Council asking for sanctions against the US for human rights violations of these poor refugees, think of all the countries that would love to be able to do that just to get even.
Working with liberal left-wing groups would stage massive protest about the US’s treatment of these poor immigrants (of course no mention that they are illegal), during these protest they will charge the fence where even more illegals would be waiting to cross over and get lost in the protesting masses. As will happen some US citizens of Hispanic decent will be ask to ID themselves or held for identification and confirmation of citizenship at which time the ACLU will seek an injunction against the Border Patrol and other enforcement Agency claiming constitutional rights violation. Within six months most of the Southwestern United States would for all intent be under the control of Mexico. THE END
