Still no nominee, but we do have a frontrunner

In the aftermath of Super Fat Tuesday, the Republican Party can now boast a frontrunner (although, I am lamenting it more than boasting it this morning). The delegate count now stands as follows:

McCain: 615
Romney: 298
Huckabee: 169
Paul: 16 (woohoo! He broke into double digits!)

It takes 1,191 to win the nomination. It’s not time to panic just yet, but it’s getting close to time. There are still 1,312 delegates remaining to be awarded (which I suppose means that Ron Paul is not yet mathematically eliminated). Romney now needs to win 68% of the remaining delegates to unseat McCain. (By contrast, Huckabee would have to win 78% of the remaining delegates - not likely). Those of us in late voting states will do our best to correct the mess the rest of you put us in.
