    What is truly facsinating to me is that most of the same neoconfederates who hem and haw for Southern independence (or at least independence at the time of the Civil War) oppose an independent Kosovo!

    They reason that Kosovo is mainly muslim, so they should not have their own state in Europe! I find this hilarious. It seems that the neoconfederate rational may really be rooted in bigotry rather than self governance.

    For Muslims to have authority over the Orthodox and over Catholics is an abomination against the Faith.

    Bill,

    With regard to Kosovo, it’s governance of the infidel over Catholics and Orthodox which is the issue.
