I labored under Socratic law profs as well, but found that “The Method” is like a gun; It can be a furious weapon in malicious hands.

My Murphy was named Perez, a legal mind so great that I am sure that, if no one showed up for Contracts one day, he would lecture to an empty room for an hour and leave.

Nope, it would a simple democratic vote by a show of hands or cat calls of derision. Every one within sight who wanted to vote, would either vote the fat one in or out.

That’s a funny story. I had a friend who was a lawyer named Bill one time and he was good at that. He did it to me intentionally and without skipping a beat every chance he got. I appreciate and despise him for being a good teacher.

Fortunately the Socratic method I was under both as an undergrad and in grad school spared me from this system.
