That’s right. The Cubs are only the second team in baseball history to reach 10,000 wins. Who is the other team? The Yankees with their 26 world championships? No sir. The Giants are the only team ahead of the Cubs. At least, that is, for a few years. Go Cubs. This just might be THE YEAR.

    26!

The Yankees have only played 16, 527 games as of September 11, 2007, with 9,371 wins (and 26 World Championships) to show for it.

It took the Cubs 19, 465 to reach the 10,000 mark. The Yankees would have 11,037 wins in as many games (assuming a constant rate of victory), supassing both the Giants and your beloved North siders.

Oh, and we have 26 World Championships. 26!
