On Monday an atheist advocacy group gained permission from Governor Gregoire to erect a paean to atheism in the rotunda of the Washington State Capitol building. The sign reads:

At this season of the Winter Solstice, may reason prevail.

There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell.

There is only our natural world.

Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts

and enslaves minds.

This is the second such display to be officially sanctioned by the government – the other is in Madison, Wisconsion. The assault on Christianity proceeds apace.

  1. love the girls Says:

“may reason prevail.” Do they have any idea how funny this is given that reasoning is an immaterial act as Aristotle so nicely proves in the De Anima using natural philosophy?

  2. Karl Says:

    It’s probably immaterial to them.

  3. Simone Says:

You know what I find hilarious? For people who don’t believe in God, they sure do talk about Him alot!

  4. vercingetorix Says:

I agree, Simone. They’re really saying “You can’t tell me what to do.” If they shut their eyes and say they can’t see Him, they’re right.
